Facts

  • CALL summons monsters from the previous mission in the Campaign mode. Unused in single battle.

  • FORCE summons an elemental to attack an enemy, call from an hex that contains an enemy.

  • HELP on suggests a move when a monster is selected. Pretty annoying, I keep it off.

  • Towers increase monster limit, enables summoning monsters on them, and heals monsters.

  • The wall tiles next to the bases don't heal units.

  • Enemy bases also don't heal units.

Analysis

  • I think the appeal of this game is not really combat strategy, but more in keeping your limited array of monsters alive and leveling them up to become unstoppable killing machines. As I understand it, you can keep leveling up your monsters during a campaign, so maybe that's the most interesting way to play this.
