Story Summary
Gray Fox is sent by US Army unit FOXHOUND, commanded by Big Boss, to infiltrate independent nation Outer Heaven. Gray Fox disappears, and rookie FOXHOUND member Solid Snake is sent to discover what happened. Snake discovers that Outer Heaven has constructed a bipedal tank weapon called Metal Gear. Snake destroys the Metal Gear and meets the commander of Outer Heaven, who turns out to be Big Boss. They fight, and Snake kills Big Boss (later retconned to be Venom Snake acting as a decoy).
