A strange ... deck-building(?) game where you build a guest list for a party.

Facts

  • Hourglass shows number of parties left.

  • 3 x trouble = police - party ends, no gains.

  • Pop and $ is for 'buying' guests - it's a deck builder, and the cards are purchased using Pop and $.

  • Buy 4 Aliens, etc. - To get 4 stars, you need to buy 4 of the corresponding characters. The infinity sign means that you can buy as many of them as you want.

  • Pop and $ Cap - You can max have 65 Pop and 30 I keep forgetting this!

Analysis

  • Hippie > Security - there are two obvious ways of dealing with troublemakers. Hippies add 1 Pop and remove 1 trouble. Security guards can remove one guest, but don't contribute any Pop. They both cost 4 Pop to buy. Let's consider the cost of mitigating a single Wild Buddy (+2 Pop, +1 trouble).

The Security guard replaces the troublemaker with a random other guest. The outcome is -2 Pop, and opens 1 slot.

The Hippie, on the other hand, keeps the troublemaker there, but reduces trouble. The outcome is +3 Pop (Wild Buddy + Hippie), but no slots opened.

So the trade-off is whether you want a random new guest or 5 more Pop. Normally, your random guest will generate less than 5 Pop, but in certain cases where you can reliably draw a Comedian, 3rd or 4th Dancer, or you need to generate $ instead, the Security guard will be better.

For other troublemakers such as the Monkey (+4 Pop), the Security guard is an even worse choice. However, the Guard can also remove himself, which gives a bit more flexibility than the Hippie.

It seems that in most cases, the Hippie is better than the Security guard.
